I am planning to have a picture of myself here.

The truth is that, like most people, I'm pretty critical of pictures of myself. And if I'm going to put one up on this site for the world to see, it'd better be good. So I'm searching for just the right shot-- I may even have a new one taken. I'll have one up soon.

Meanwhile, know that one reason I'm so encouraging and compassionate with my subjects is that I, too, am a bit camera shy.
My background   spans 23 years as a professional wedding photographer in Seattle.

I've worked at most locations in the area, and am good at managing logistics and time. Because I have so much experience, I stay calm and unruffled no matter what happens. (Please see Jennifer Aldassy's letter, below.) I also hold a degree in Commercial and Technical Photography, and pay close attention to the technical and artistic details; and I bring lots and lots of back-up equipment to ensure that nothing goes wrong.

I AM HAPPY TO TRAVEL. My clients have taken me to weddings in Spain, Mexico, Hawaii, and even Saskatoon. I enjoy working closer to home, too, in Seattle, Tacoma, Everett... or whatever beautiful spot you've chosen.

MY WAY WITH PEOPLE is warm and kind whenever I interact with you (say, during the planned pictures, if we do some). For most of the wedding, though, I'm nearly invisible, moving quietly in the background to capture moments that wouldn't happen if people knew they were being photographed. My clients often say they're surprised by how painless the photography was.

HERE"S WHAT ELSE THEY SAY.

"You have a real knack for remembering who's whom and sensing relationships. You got pictures of everyone who's important to us."-- Rachel Williams and Jed Stickgold

"Thanks so much for doing such a great job on our wedding. (I don't think I ever looked so good.) You're a genuine person and a true artist."--Brian Harrington

"Peter and I were looking for 3 things in our wedding photographer: someone who could fit in with the relaxed, family feel we wanted, who could fit into our budget, and who could leave us with fabulous pictures.

As soon as we met Anne, we knew she was perfect. In her soft-spoken way she is incredibly attentive to the details, and respectful of not trying to 'direct the show,' but rather 'capturing the show' with quiet determination. Throughout the wedding she slipped in and out, and rarely was I aware of her or the cameras. Yet she took not only the 'must-have' pictures, but many special moments and looks I never would have expected.

Anne also executed amazing grace under fire. DUE TO LOVELY SEATTLE TRAFFIC, I WAS AN HOUR AND A HALF LATE TO MY OWN WEDDING. With 45 minutes until the wedding I had to get dressed, do my make-up, and have our planned pictures taken. Anne stayed calm, and helped me stay calm. Amazingly, we were able to squeeze in almost all the originally planned portraits-- and they are truly beautiful.

Anne's price was very reasonable. I was especially impressed by her straightforwardness. The price of the wedding photography is determined before the wedding, with no surprise cost after the fact.

Most importantly, I think everyone wants to look happy and beautiful in their wedding pictures. Like many people, I don't feel very photogenic, and tend to freeze up in front of the camera. But I LOVE EVERY ONE OF THE PHOTOS ANNE TOOK, AND FEEL ABSOLUTELY RADIANT IN THEM.

ANNE HAS A WAY OF FINDING THE UNIQUE BEAUTY IN EVERYONE." -- Jennifer Aldassy
